Prerequisite Courses
Certain high school courses have prerequisites as a requirement for enrolment. For example, Grade 9 Applied Science (SNC1P) is a prerequisite for enrolment in Grade 10 Applied Science (SNC2P).
All prerequisite courses are identified in the school calendar and no courses apart from these may be identified as prerequisites.
If a parent or an adult student requests that a prerequisite be waived, the principal will determine whether or not the prerequisite should be waived.
A request for a prerequisite to be waived must be made in writing to the principal. The principal shall respond within one month. In the case of a denial, the student has one month to appeal the decision. A request for appeal must be made in writing to the principal and the education director of NNEC. A final decision shall be forwarded within one month.
