SSSP provides guidance for First Nations students so that each may gain awareness of self-respect, self-fulfillment and relevance in a diverse culture. We help students recognize their opportunities for the future. All services are provided in an environment that considers specific empowerment strategies that meet the needs of our youth so that they may achieve their educational goals more effectivity.
Trained supportive staff, safe & caring boarding homes, recreational activities, crisis response (after hours and on-call), counseling and intake, social supports, medical/dental/optometrist supports, and incentive programs.
Waakaahikan is a youth centered service intended to provide short term protective accommodation for intoxicated DFC students/youth to achieve sobriety. The purpose is to protect our students from imminent harm and to assist youth to identify immediate and longer term safety, care and support needs.
To provide at risk student youth a safe place and assist them in making successful transitions to healthier circumstances.
The provision of a safe and supportive environment that is responsive to presenting issues of youth and where integrated services support youth in making positive decisions and healthier transitions for themselves.
